Sale, Purchase and Registration

Whether you are buying or selling a commercial vessel, a super yacht or dinghy we can advise on the
contractual and jurisdictional issues associated with the transaction. We have drafted bespoke yachting
contracts, advised on the standard commercial sale and purchase forms, carried out necessary
searches, formed companies to own or manage vessels and have dealt with the formalities of sale. We
have good links with lawyers in many of the offshore jurisdictions and can assist you to close the sale
or purchase the vessel with as little risk to you as possible.

In respect of smaller vessels we advise on the important evidence that is needed to properly establish
the vessel’s VAT status and that will allow you to travel freely in the EU without the risk of the vessel
being impounded.

We also offer a fixed fee registration service. This will include arranging the relevant measurement
survey, carving and marking and quickly reserving the name of your vessel. We will obtain your port of
choice and quickly register the vessel on Part 1 of the Register of Shipping.
